The Dust Eater electrostatic filter utilizes two electrostatically charged
fabric panels separated by our unique ACCUMULATOR CHAMBER to produce a
very effective three stage filtration process. The first Dust Eater electrostatic
filter panel (prefilter) attracts and holds airborne particulates. The filter
fabric's inherent electrostatic charge enhances filtration by drawing particulates
onto fiber surfaces like iron filings onto a magnet. Static electricity, being
static, does not flow like electrical current, and therefore does not discharge
over time or require either grounding or insulation. The heavy waffle weave of
the polypropylene fabric contributes to the filters dust holding capacity. When
particulates build up on the prefilter, air flow causes them to break off and
be swept into the ACCUMULATOR CHAMBER, where turbulence and
electrostatic forces cause agglomeration into even larger particulates. These agglomerated
particulates are too large to pass through the second panel (afterfilter).
Finally, the afterfilter attracts and holds the smaller particulates that may
have escaped the prefilter, or do not respond to an electrostatic charge.
The Dust Eater is Significantly more effcient than standard throw away filters. Standard disposable filters trap only very large particles. Not only are these filters less efficient but they tend to clog, restricting air flow which results in increased heating/cooling costs. Plus, Dust Eater is environmentally friendly with no disposable parts.
Standard and custom sizes are available to fit any furnace. Install Dust Eater by simply removing your existing disposable filter and sliding in your permanent new air filter.
Rinse Dust Eater with running water. Particles inside the ACCUMULATOR CHAMBER as well as on the electrostatic panels washout easily through the drainage ports. For tough dirt and grease, let your filter soak in a mild detergent with warm water before rinsing clean.
